Silvia Marini began studying the flute at the age of ten and graduated with distinction in 2002 under the guidance of Maestro Vanni Montanari. She continued her studies with Maestro Raffaele Trevisani while simultaneously attending numerous advanced masterclasses with internationally renowned artists such as James Galway, Michele Marasco, Maxence Larrieu, Ransom Wilson, Claude Lefebvre, Bulent Evcil, and Mario Caroli.
She further specialized in Chamber Music with Maestro Bruno Canino and Maestro Pier Narciso Masi at the Accademia Pianistica Internazionale “Incontri col Maestro” in Imola, where she graduated with top honors in 2007.
In 2008, she obtained her Second-Level Academic Diploma with highest honors and distinction.
She also attended piccolo lessons with Maestro Nicola Mazzanti and Maurizio Simeoli. Her orchestral training began with the Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini and the Orchestra dell’Accademia del Teatro alla Scala, as well as with orchestras from her region including the Orchestra Città di Ravenna, Orchestra Sinfonica della Repubblica di San Marino, Orchestra Bruno Maderna di Forlì, and the Orchestra Sinfonica G. Rossini di Pesaro.
Since 2009, she has collaborated with several leading Italian opera and symphonic orchestras, including the Orchestra del Teatro di San Carlo, Orchestra del Teatro alla Scala and Filarmonica della Scala, Orchestra del Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, Orchestra del Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, ORT Orchestra della Toscana, Orchestra dell’Emilia-Romagna Arturo Toscanini, Orchestra dell’Arena di Verona, and Orchestra del Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, as well as short collaborations with foreign ensembles such as the Moscow Chamber Orchestra and the OSPA Orchestra Sinfonica del Principado de Asturias.
She is currently flutist and piccolo player of the Orchestra Filarmonica Italiana.
Alongside the classical repertoire, she has also taken part in jazz and pop productions with internationally acclaimed artists including Wayne Shorter, John Patitucci, Paolo Fresu, Andrea Bocelli, Zucchero, Ed Sheeran, and Anastacia.
Since 2015, she has been teaching Piccolo at the Civica Scuola di Musica Claudio Abbado in Milan.
Since 2023, she has taught the postgraduate Piccolo program at the Conservatorio Statale Giuseppe Verdi di Ravenna.
