1. About

The Musical Association ClassicAllMusic in collaboration with the Music Conservatory Istituto Musicale Pareggiato  “G. Lettimi” is excited to present the first edition of the Rimini Summer Music Academy (RSMA). The Academy includes hotel accommodation with breakfast and welcomes students of all nationalities. Please contact the Association if you are interested in participation without accommodation.

2.   Eligibility

The Rimini Summer Music Academy is open to young musicians of all nationalities.
Minimum Age (instrumentalists): 10 years old
Minimum Age (singers): 16 years old

3.   Dates

The outline of dates for the Academy are:
8th July – Arrival, Check into Hotel, Welcome Ceremony and Small Concert given by the Professors
9th July – Lessons Commence
15th July – Final Concert given by the Students
16th July – Day tour to Florence (Optional)
17th July – Departure

4. Location

All activities and lessons will take place in the charming historical Italian town of Rimini at the Music Conservatory Istituto Musicale Pareggiato “G.Lettimi” in Via Cairoli 44.

6. Academy / Hotel   Packages

The all-inclusive Academy + Accommodation package includes shared/single room in a 4 star hotel with breakfast for the entire academy from the 8th-17th July inclusive. Otherwise, there is the Academy only package without accommodation. Applicants can specify which package they require on the online application form. 

7.   Accompanying   Guests

Parents and guests are welcome to accompany the students in Italy. This must be stated on the application form. There will be a fee per guest which includes shared or single accommodation with breakfast and access to observe all classes and activities of the Academy. Please refer to the fees below in note 11.

8. Classes and Activities

The Rimini Summer Music Academy is designed to be an intensive and cultural learning experience for the students and aims to nurture well-rounded musicians and artists. There will be a packed schedule of classes and activities.

All students will have basic Italian language class in the mornings where they will learn basic phrases and vocabulary as part of their cultural education.

Then, apart from individual lessons with their professor, there will also be masterclasses, chamber music lessons, ensemble playing and other activities like a presentation of fine Italian hand-made string instruments.

9.   Florence   Day   Tour

Once the Academy has finished on the 15th, students will have the option to sign up for a day tour to Florence on the 16th of July. The organisation will organise the transfer to and from the hotel, the tour guide for the day and lunch. Students must specify if they would like to participate in the tour on their application form. 

Tour cost: 120 euros per person per tour
Please note: there needs to be a minimum number of participants for the tour to take place

10. Diploma

All participants will receive a diploma at the completion of the Academy

 

 

11.   Fees / Tuition / Accommodation

Application Fee to the Organisation: : 150 Euros (this includes insurance fees and obligatory membership to the Musical Association ClassicAllMusic)
Academy/Accommodation/Package Fees: The organisation has various packages with/without accommodation for students and parents/guests in single and double rooms so please contact us for our full list of fees.
Hotel Deposit: 300 euros (if applicants choose the Package with accommodation) 

PLEASE NOTE: Only the Application Fee and Hotel deposit need to be paid by the deadline with the online application. The rest of the fees (academy fee, rest of the accommodation and optional day tour fees) will be paid on the day of arrival (8th of July) in cash at the offical welcome ceremony.

N.B: All fees are non-refundable unless the Academy is cancelled

12.   Cello   Rental

– Cello applicants can choose to either bring their own cello or rent one in Italy. If students choose to rent a Cello in Italy, they must still bring their own bow. The cost of cello rental for the week is 180 euros (cello, case and insurance)
– Applicants who want to rent other instruments should contact the organisation
– 
All students must bring copies of their music scores

13.   Application   Deadline

The Application deadline is the 15th of April, 2019

14. Application Procedure

The Application must be submitted ONLINE by the application deadline with the following attachments

  • copy of valid passport
  • confirmation of bank transfer of application fee/hotel deposit

for participants under the age of 18:

  • copy of identity card (eg. passport) with photo of parent or legal guardian
  • details of parent/legal guardian
  • parental permission from parent/legal guardian

15.   Submitted   Application

A submitted application form implies full and unconditional acceptance of the rules and regulations
